Join Metro State's Health and Wellness Department for an interdisciplinary panel of experts on reproductive health and justice.

The June 2022 Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v Wade ended the fundamental, constitutional right to abortion care in the United States. This decision disproportionately impacts communities that are marginalized and underserved. Since the overturning of Roe, 13 states have fully banned abortions with very limited or no exceptions. Many more states are in the process of passing abortion restrictions or bans.

Abortion care is still legal in Minnesota, but two of our neighboring states (South Dakota and Wisconsin) have bans in effect. This panel will provide expert insights into the legal, physical, and emotional consequences that the overturning of Roe v. Wade has on Minnesotans and beyond.

Panelists:
June Carbone, U of M Law School
Rochelle Vincent, Spiral Collective
Shayla Walker, Our Justice

As a result of attending this event, attendees will:

  • Gain a better understanding of the legal implications of the Dobbs decision, both locally and nationally
