The CLA Speaker Series presents Dr. Jillian Tullis, professor of communication at the University of San Diego! Dr. Tullis will discuss her research about how people talk about dying and death in a society that some have labeled "death denying." Using data from interviews and observations, this talk will focus on the concept of a Good Death (or dying well), with a specific focus on the question, "Who is a good death for?" Her research raises questions about the presence or absence of race, class, and culture in end-of-life care and communication about these issues.
