It takes 1,000 voices to tell a single story. The characters of your life—your ancestors, your family, and your friends—add a voice to your story in ways that bring it color, laughter, and tears. Native Proverb

Join MAIR and VOICES for an afternoon of traditional Native American Storytelling, presented by Dakota storytellers Thorne LaPointe and Wakinyan LaPointe.

Storytelling comes from the oral traditions of Native American people and the stories are shared at a certain time of the year (winter). Creation stories, animal stories, children stories are some of the themes. They are based on honoring plants, animals, and our human ancestors. It is entertaining and educational told from the perspectives of Native people as we see the world.

This event is free and open to the community. Join us in-person or virtually via Zoom (passcode: 723106). For more information, contact Janice Denny at janice.denny@metrostate.edu.
