The Middle and High School Outreach programs grant school-age youth the opportunity to visit a college campus and to participate in hands-on age-appropriate workshops and classes. Students explore topics ranging from Digital Photography, STEM, Arts, Health and much more.
Metropolitan State University established the Youth and Family Outreach Programs in 1994 to offer programming and educational activities for Youth in the Twin Cities Metropolitan area, while providing university students the opportunity to coordinate programs, develop leadership skills, and build professional working relationships with faculty, staff, and community organizations.
- The program can accommodate up to 60 youth per visit.
- Campus visits are available Fridays 10-1pm.
- To schedule a visit, please complete the Youth Campus Visit Form 3-4 weeks in advance and email it to ICESyouthprograms@metrostate.edu.
- Transportation will need to be provided by AVID (or schools).
All school visit will include three workshops, a lunch period, and a university student panel. All students will have the opportunity to take two of the three workshops during the visit. A tour of the university can be added to the schedule if time permits.
