Interlibrary loan

If you are looking for an item and Metropolitan State University’s library does not own it, you have the option of using interlibrary loan (ILL), through which we can borrow a copy from another library for you to use. ILL is a free service provided to current students, staff, faculty and alumni.

Are you sure we don't have it?

For articles, books or videos, check out OneSearch.

Need an article from another library?

Use this article order form and select "article" to request articles from journals. Delivery times vary, but the average wait time is 3-5 business days. Most articles arrive to your university email account but some will have to be picked up at the Saint Paul campus library.

Need a book or video?

Use this book order form and select "book" to request books and DVDs. Delivery times vary, but the average wait time is 5–14 business days, depending on how widely available the item is. Items will need to be picked up at the Saint Paul campus library.

Please note that we do not fulfill interlibrary loan requests for textbooks, ebooks or popular audiovisual items. For details about renewals of ILL materials and fines, please see the Checkout and Renewals table above.
