April 2: New Main to light up in blue for World Autism Day

Posted March 29, 2016

In 2007, the United Nations declared April 2 as World Autism Awareness Day to shine a bright light on autism as a growing global health crisis. Autism is one of only three health issues to be recognized with its own day by the United Nations.

On this day, New Main on Metropolitan State’s Saint Paul Campus joins thousands of landmarks, communities and homes across the globe in shining bright blue lights in honor of the millions of individuals and families around the world impacted by autism. Governor Mark Dayton and Mayor Chris Coleman have also issued proclamations declaring April Autism Awareness month.
