Disability Services changed their name to the Center for Accessibility Resources (CAR). Input from the campus community along with a review of best practices led to this decision. CAR is a resource for all members of the university community and continues to offer supports and services for individuals with disabilities of all types.
Metropolitan State University serves a unique and diverse population, with many students and other community members coming from backgrounds that don’t necessarily identify with “disability.” CAR is here to help ensure equitable access for those that are encountering barriers to the educational environment, whether that is physical or programmatic access. Additionally, the center is much more than just services for students, they are a resource for the entire community.
