The university encourages broad, respectful communication and open discourse on various topics through e-mail lists. Below is a guide on the appropriate usage of each list. All lists are to be used within MnSCU Board policy and applicable state and federal law.
This list goes to all faculty and staff and allows ‘reply to all.’ This resource is to be used appropriately and respectfully. E-mail posts that are bullying or that are disparaging of individuals or groups are not tolerated.
This e-mail list is intended for open and unmoderated discussion. It cannot be used for fundraising for any sort for agencies outside the university or for personal gain (such as renting houses, garage sales, and so on).
All university faculty and staff have access. E-mail addresses are automatically maintained, with new faculty and staff added as they join the institution. However, you may opt-out of the list by following the instructions at the bottom of each metro-discuss e-mail.
