Holiday Giving Program for Student Parent Center

The Metropolitan State University community can be proud that for 16 years it has sponsored families in need over the holiday season. For the past four years, donations were made to families of our Metropolitan State students who were in need of help and support. We are offering the Holiday Giving Program again this year and are asking for your help.

Many of our students at universities are parenting while attending school, and their budgets can be very tight — so tight that they may not have enough money, after paying for tuition and living expenses, to buy holiday gifts for their children. Some students may be completely out of money for food by the last week of the month.

The generosity through gifts and donations last year made for some very happy children. This year those student parents in need are coming in greater numbers and we would like to help each and every family.

If you’d like to sponsor a student parent family this holiday, please contact the Student Parent Center Office Manager Ruth Bier at: or(651)793-1568. Specify the size of the family (two, four, or more) you would be willing to sponsor or an individual child you would like to help. If you prefer a certain age or gender child, let us know.

You can also make a donation of gift cards or checks. Please make checks payable to the Metropolitan State University Foundation and include in the memo, “Holiday Giving Program”.

Contributions will be accepted in the following forms:

·       Toys and goods (please do not wrap, but provide gift wrap for the student)
·       Gift cards
·       Kohl’s Cash (which will be used to buy gifts)
·       Checks made out to Metropolitan State Foundation (memo line “Holiday Giving Program”)
