June 2: Art in the Hollow

Friends of Swede Hollow presents the annual Art in the Hollow 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, June 2,  at Swede Hollow Park, located just north of Metropolitan State University’s Saint Paul Campus. 

Art in the Hollow showcases local artists creating live art and selling their work. The outdoor art fair is a free, family-friendly event that is open to the public and will go on rain or shine. Enjoy the outdoors and interact with community members at this celebration of art and natural beauty, all while  learning about the history of the Swede Hollow neighborhood and community organizations, and supporting local businesses. Over 50 visual and performing artists are anticipated.

Art in the Hollow is a project of Friends of Swede Hollow and supported by kind donors, local businesses and community partners.

Visit artinthehollow.org for more information, to volunteer, perform or to exhibit. The deadline is May 30 for visual artists (use this application form) and for performance artists (use this application form). The deadline is May 25 for the sculpture contest (Apply using this form).

Friends of Swede Hollow is also seeking works of art to to display. If selected, artwork will become part of the event, to be installed by the artist and on site for display from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 2.

From the selected exhibition pieces, four will receive cash prizes:

  • First prize: $300S
  • Second prize: $20
  • Third prize: $100
  • People’s Choice Award (based on audience voting): $100
