Metropolitan State University Gordon Parks Gallery presents Student Salon 2016, featuring multi-media works produced by Metropolitan State students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs.

From ceramic vessels to black and white photography, this exhibit surveys the diverse form and content explored in class and beyond. Visual artists include: Aarah Aizman, St. Louis Park; Meagan Betts, Saint Paul; Jennifer Geving, Minneapolis; Christopher D. McLaughlin, Eagan; Gina Nelson, Farmington; Priscilla Stilwell, Saint Paul; Michael “Stryker” Struyk, Woodbury; and Eva Torres, Saint Paul.

The exhibit opens with a reception from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 24 and continues through April 15. Gallery hours are 11 a.m.–7 p.m., Monday to Thursday, and 11 a.m.–4 p.m., Friday and Saturday. The gallery is located in the Library and Learning Center, 645 East Seventh Street, Saint Paul.

Regardingthe exhibition, Gallery Director Erica Rasmussen has said, “This year’s exhibition features work produced by Studio Arts minors and majors, as well as several Pre-Art Therapy students. Some of the work was created as craft, to be utilized on a daily basis. Some of the work was created with narrative underpinnings, as positive outlets for self-expression. Whatever the inspiration, it’s a pleasure for me to share their creative works with the university community.”
