Community Planting Day is on May 26 at Swede Hollow Cafe, 725 East Seventh Street, Saint Paul. The event, sponsored by Urban Oasis, Urban Roots and Dayton’s Bluff Community Council, aims to turn East Seventh Street into a living display of urban gardening. Attendees should bring gardening gloves and water. Healthy snacks provided by Urban Oasis.
The event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on May 26. The plant sale starts at 4:30 p.m.
Attend and help plant ten container gardens with a variety of herbs, vegetables and edible flowers representing food cultures from around the East Side. These planters will be designed based on community input and gardening expertise from Urban Roots. Plants will also be available at Urban Roots’ first annual plant sale.
