David Isham is Metropolitan State's new admissions counselor and American Indian liaison

David Isham is Metropolitan State’s new admissions counselor and American Indian liaison.

Isham brings experience in program development and leadership planning, along with an intimate knowledge and respect for all American Indian nations. This knowledge provides him with the ability to relate effectively to the many challenges students may encounter in the educational environment. He earned his B.A. in geography from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and served in the U.S. Air Force.

Most recently, Isham  worked as an independent consultant, conducting entrepreneurial research, serving in advisory and committee roles, and working on language revitalization and cultural research. Previously, Isham was an education equity specialist in the Robbinsdale Area Schools, an access and opportunity specialist for the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system office, and an interim coordinator for Student Support Services at Metropolitan State University in the late 1990s.
