There is still room to available to join the “Metro State Production Team” and participate in a “full-filling” evening of community service work packing food boxes for low-income seniors at the Second Harvest facility in Maplewood.

Our shift is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 3 at the Second Harvest facility, 1140 Gervais Ave, Saint Paul.  A crew of 20 is needed to fully staff the assembly line. It’s a fast-paced activity—you can expect skip the gym on that day.

Join President Ginny Arthur, the university Institutional Effectiveness staff and others in this team-building activity.

This is a direct way to address hunger in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. During the two-hour shift we’ll pack about 600-700 boxes (up to 10 tons of food) that will provide about 16,000 meals for seniors. The university student food shelf is also supplied by Second Harvest, so this support for the organization also supports our students.

More details about the activity are available online. RSVP to Bruce Lindberg, if you’d like to join the crew.
