Mock trial is a series of engaging trial simulations between college teams that compete locally, statewide, and nationwide. Students who participate develop critical thinking and public speaking skills, as well as knowledge of legal practices and procedures.

An information session for interested students will be 5 to 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 3, Student Center, room 201. The session will be particularly useful for those are interested in law, acting, public speaking or serving as an expert witness in a specialized field, although all majors are welcome to participate. Those who are interested but unable to attend are encouraged to contact the organizer at scrobin7@hotmail.com.

The team will be coached by a local representative of the American Mock Trial Association, however, a university faculty or staff member serving as advisor is necessary for the team to be recognized as a registered student organization and receive funding. Contact Alysia Lajune, coordinator, Student Life & Leadership Development, at 651.793.1550 or Alysia.Lajune@metrostate.edu if interested.
