Special summer 2016 bus pass price for the first 200 students

The Financial Management Office and Gateway Student Services have bus passes for sale for summer semester to registered Metropolitan State students. The summer bus passes are good June 1–Aug. 15 on any Metro Transit bus, the Green Line Light Rail and the Hiawatha Light Rail. The bus pass price to students for summer semester is $15 thanks to a generous subsidy. This is applicable to the first 200 passes sold. After that time, the price will return to the regular price of $90.

Pre-orders and phone orders will not be accepted. Bus passes are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis at the cashier’s window on the 3rd floor of Founders Hall on the Saint Paul Campus and Gateway Student Services locations at all campuses.

Students may charge their bus pass to their tuition and fee account; however, the student must have a miscellaneous charge form on file. Or, students may purchase a bus pass outright by cash or check at Gateway Student Services or the Cashier window (credit card payments MUST be made at the Cashier’s window) on the Saint Paul campus during regular business hours.  The Gateway offices at the Minneapolis Campus, Midway Center and Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Education Center can only sell bus passes by charging to the student account.

Please note if you plan to use the bus pass:

  • Students need to register their bus pass online at Metro Transit.
  • Students must have their bus pass registered in order to receive a replacement pass for $20. If the card is not registered, the student must pay the full price for a replacement.
  • A valid student ID must be presented along with the bus pass when riding.
  • Additional fare is required if students ride the Northstar Commuter Rail or any route with a fare higher than $3.
