If you live outside of Minnesota, there’s never been a better time to register for courses at Metropolitan State: Out-of-state tuition is now on par with the in-state tuition rate.

The new rate makes tuition the same for all students, regardless of their residency. The new tuition model eliminates the out-of-state differential. Starting fall, non-resident students will save $202.12 per undergraduate credit and $365.75 per graduate credit, compared to 2020-21 tuition rates.

The Metropolitan State University Student Association unanimously supported the change.

Metropolitan State remains one of the lowest tuition universities in the state, keeping its high-quality education affordable and accessible.

Tuition rates for some courses and degree programs will continue to have different tuition rates. The new rates also reflect a 3.5% tuition increase affecting all universities in the Minnesota State system, including Metropolitan State.

Tuition rates according to selected degree programs will continue to be applied and be in addition to the base tuition rates. Programs affected include Natural Sciences, Nursing (BSN, MS, DNP) and Dental Hygiene (BSDH, ADT), Doctor of Business Administration, and Law Enforcement Skills. Academic Year 2021-2022 Tuition Rates can be found at the Tuition, Fines, and Fees page of the university’s website.

We know navigating the pandemic has not been easy, and at times, has been extremely painful. We know we need to continue to be vigilant in COVID prevention. Here at Metro State, we are full with hope, anticipation and excitement for this Fall Semester. We can’t wait to share it all with you!

Courses with low enrollment may be canceled on Aug.11, 2021, so it’s important to register now to get the schedule YOU want to allow for work, family and your busy life.
