Planned utilities work near Dayton's Bluff campus, Oct. 29-Nov. 2

Posted October 29, 2018

Metropolitan State University has been notified that in the upcoming week utility crews will be working on the east side (or the parking ramp side) of Maria Avenue, between East 7th Street and East 6th Street.

This work is being done to install a fiber optic line for a new cellular repeater on East 6th Street. The work will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day,  Oct. 29 to Nov. 2,

The estimated start dates are Tuesday, Oct. 30, for the initial work on East 7th Street, and Wednesday, Nov. 1, for the work on Maria Avenue itself. This work is expected to last three days.

The work is not planned to interrupt use of the Maria Avenue entrance to the parking garage. There will be a partial closure of Maria Avenue; crew members with flags will help direct traffic.

Through traffic will move more quickly on Mounds Boulevard or Bates Avenue. The Bates Avenue parking garage entrance will be open as usual. You can reach all levels of the ramp, and the surface lot, from the Bates entrance.

Please join in the current Accident Reduction Project when you are moving about the parking ramp.

Please call the parking ramp office, 651-793-1731, with any questions.
