Metropolitan State University President Ginny Arthur is the "Matriculation Maven" uniting us in the power of service and leadership. Metropolitan State is building Minnesota’s future workforce one student at a time by cementing the school’s commitment to serving first-generation, nontraditional students.
Under President Arthur's leadership, the university has been federally recognized as an Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution. The university has also received the Higher Education Excellence in Diversity award three years in a row and now ranks #1 in Minnesota and #35 nationally on the Social Mobility Index, which measures how well a college or university educates more economically disadvantaged students at lower tuition and graduates them into good paying jobs. In addition, President Arthur's leadership has resulted in record recruitment and retention of faculty and staff of color in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.
