Information for Students

All appointment scheduling is done online using RegisterBlast. Your instructor must first submit the exam before you can schedule. See this flowchart for the correct order to follow.

Exam Guidelines

  1. Students who cannot keep their exam appointment should cancel their appointment online at RegisterBlast or by email:
  2. Students are responsible for bringing all allowed exam materials, i.e., a proper calculator. Note: graphing/programmable calculators will not be allowed unless the exam instructions state otherwise.
  3. Students should use the restroom before the exam if necessary.
  4. Students will place all non-exam belongings/materials in a locker designated by the test proctors. Please only bring what will fit into an 18inx18inx18in locker. Testing Center Staff are not responsible for students’ belongings.
  5. No food, gum, or beverages are permitted in the Testing Center.
  6. Students must be seated at the station assigned by the proctor. Accommodations must be pre-arranged. Please email with questions.
  7. Students may not leave the Testing Center with any exams or exam-related materials.
  8. Students are responsible for ending the exam immediately when asked to do so by a proctor. The Testing Center staff report all start and end times to instructors.
  9. All cell phones, tablets, smart watches, laptops, and other electronics must be stored in the locker outside of the testing room. Students will not have access to their phone during an exam.
  10. Students will not have access to belongings stored in locker until the exam has ended and been returned to staff.
  11. Students who use the Testing Center agree to follow the Student Code of Conduct and Academic Integrity Policy.
  12. Proctors administer exams in congruence with the instructions provided by instructors. Hence, students who disagree with the stated exam instructions must resolve disputes with their instructor. An exam will not be administered in conflict with the instructions under any circumstances.

VIP Information to Read

  • Our scheduling platform RegisterBlast is automated. You will only be able to select a day and time to complete an exam that:
    • falls within the testing window set by your instructor
    • falls on a day we are open
    • allows you to complete your exam before the Center closes
  • If you do not see your exam as an option in RegisterBlast, then please contact your instructor.
    • The testing window may have expired
    • The materials may not yet be submitted

Off-Site Proctoring

Metropolitan State University students can visit to have an exam proctored off-site (at no charge) at a testing center within the Minnesota State system:

  • Make up exams
  • Independent study course exams
  • Online course exam

Steps for arranging an off-site exam:

An incomplete off-site proctor form will be returned to student (and cause delays in sending/forwarding exam to the preferred test center).

Non-Metropolitan State Students

Exams for courses outside the Minnesota State system incur a $35 charge, payable only by check or money order at the time of the appointment.

  • Contact your institution’s testing center or instructor, and have them send us the exam materials/information and any required off-site proctor forms.
