Grievance Policy

The “Food for Thought” food pantry in Metropolitan State University is committed in maintaining an environment free from discriminatory behavior and provides an equal opportunity to serve food to all Metro State students regardless of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, marital status, sexual orientation, and national origin. This commitment is separate from both the University’s grievance policy (#3030) and our partner “Good in the ‘Hood” grievance policy. However, the purpose of this commitment is to provide a fair, effective, and efficient mechanism that solves the conflicts occurred at the food pantry. A clear and comprehensive effort will be applied in order to solve the issue.
The following guidelines will help the staff or volunteer to handle the situation as calmly as possible and collect the following data:

  1. the reason for the complaint,
  2. the name of the complainant,
  3. the name of the staff involved,
  4. the name of the person to whom the complaint is made,
  5. the date and time of the incident,
  6. Person (s) involved during the complaint.

Volunteer opportunities:
We welcome people to volunteer on delivery days (Twice a month) for about 2-3 hours each delivery days.
(Weekly pop up area to show recipes, health and nutritional facts and diet suggestions on the website.)
