Teaching for Inclusion (flyer)

The Center for Faculty Development provides resources and services to support Metropolitan State's Resident and Community Faculty and Staff in realizing the University's mission, vision, and values. "The University is committed to academic excellence and community partnerships through the curriculum, teaching, scholarship and services designed to support an urban mission."

We support the work of our faculty with conferences, workshops, reading groups, learning circles, classroom visits, and individual consultations. The Center for Faculty Development shares Metropolitan State University's commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. We honor this commitment by promoting teaching and learning as ongoing and collaborative processes of seeking new knowledge and skills, experimentation, and reflection. Our programs and services are available to the entire university's teaching community, including full-time and part-time faculty, and other colleagues involved in supporting faculty and student success at Metropolitan State. We strive to provide programming that aligns with the University's Core Values of Excellence, Diversity and Inclusion, Engagement, Open, Respectful Climate, and Integrity.

Center for Faculty Development staff members are dedicated to fostering a university community where outstanding teaching leads to significant and transformative learning. We offer many programs and resources aimed to support teaching excellence, champion scholarly teaching, and foster connection among university faculty, staff, and advisers. Specifically, we provide consulting services, new community and resident faculty orientations, events, reading and learning circles, collaborating with colleagues to plan and promote development opportunities, conferences, online and print resources, and work spaces for faculty at Metropolitan State's campus and center locations.

The Center for Faculty Development also supports faculty scholarship and creative achievement by hosting faculty writing circles, pairing new faculty with mentors according to their teaching and scholarly interests, facilitating learning circles, providing information on Grant and Scholarship programs, and providing programming based in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
