Formed in 2016, the College of Community Studies and Public Affairs (CCSPA) houses the School of Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, and the departments of Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, and Public and Nonprofit Leadership. Rooted in both the practices and ideals of human worth, public service, and community engagement, CCSPA ultimately seeks to create inter-professional paths of learning and educational approaches that explore how to meet the evolving needs of individuals and communities, especially within diverse metropolitan urban areas like the Twin Cities.

All of CCSPA's programs explore pressing questions - on personal, professional, and public levels - and our affordable undergraduate and graduate options are especially appealing to persons interested in pursuing their educational and career development within a community-centric and public service context.

The scope of CCSPA's programs are designed to give students the theoretical and real-world skills that are essential for successful work. They foster relevant, engaged learning through both classroom and on-line modalities and an approach that is grounded in solid psychological research and knowledge of the human person and nurtures experiential learning through internships, practicum experiences, research that supports evidence-based practice, and opportunities for professional networking. Ongoing curricular innovations, an experienced faculty, and the University's well-established presence in the metropolitan community also help our students achieve their educational and career goals.
