Corrections Professional Certificate Program

Program Dates: Aug. 27, 2018 - Dec. 16, 2018; Mondays and Thursdays (one Saturday per month); 6-9:15 p.m.

Who is this program for?

  • Existing correctional staff desiring to enhance their knowledge, skills, and career opportunities
  • Students looking to gain practical skills that prepare them for employment in the corrections profession

What skills will I gain?

Practical skills to enhance your effectiveness as a change agent with clients such as:

  • Motivational interviewing;
  • Assessment;
  • Group facilitation skills; and,
  • Case planning.

How is this training provided?

  • Through a variety of delivery modes: Classroom, online, and experiential learning by professionals in the field with real-world perspectives and connections with current materials and tools that open pathways for enhanced employment

  • At least one year of post-secondary education, or
  • One year relevant experience in correction or related human services field

Note: If currently in a degree program, enrolling within one year of completion is recommended.


$2,275.30 in tuition for the ten (10) credits. Residency and student fees also apply.

Note: This certificate is NOT Financial Aid eligible.  

Enrollment is limited to 20 students.
