Mental health resources

Counseling, health and wellness at Metro State 

Staff in the Counseling, Health and Wellness department provide high-quality, trauma-informed mental health services informed by our values: social justice, respect, excellence, growth and collaboration. We offer individual therapy, group therapy, case management, psychological assessment and psychiatry services.

Urgent mental health care 

  • Metro State’s Metro CARES support line—651-793-1568, choose option zero 
  • Ramsey County Urgent Mental Health Care: Urgent Care for Adult Mental Health provides services to adults experiencing a mental health crisis. No appointment needed. 

Free or low-cost community resources

  • Walk-in Counseling Center: Walk-in Counseling offers free and anonymous mental health services. The first appointment is drop-in, but additional appointments can be scheduled.  
  • Hamm Clinic: Hamm clinic provides culturally-responsive, relational care for adults, especially those facing financial barriers.  
  • Wilder Foundation: Wilder Foundation provides comprehensive mental health services in a variety of languages. No appointments needed on Tuesdays from 11am – 3pm.  
  • Community University Health Care Center (CUHCC): CUHCC is a community clinic offering a variety of health services, including mental health (therapy, psychiatry, case management), dental, health, legal and other services. Call 612-301-3433 to schedule an appointment.
