Biography
Leiry Warren earned a degree in Basic Education with emphasis in Humanities and Languages (Spanish, English, and French) from the Universidad Libre, Bogota, Colombia, graduating with honors. She later pursued an MA in Spanish as a Foreign Language Teaching at the Universidad de Navarra in Pamplona, Spain, where she not only received the excellence scholarship but also gained experience teaching undergraduate Spanish courses. She obtained another MA in Hispanic Linguistics from the University of Minnesota. Her research interests include second language acquisition, oral fluency in assessments, sociocultural theory, metacognition in language learning, the use of scenarios (Di Pietro, 1994), and language policy.
