Welcome to the Metro State University Foundation. The Foundation is the 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that accepts and stewards gifts from alumni, faculty, staff, and friends to benefit the university’s students and programs.

Your scholarship gift to the Metro State University Foundation makes a powerful impact on our students, their families, and the community. Scholarships allow students to stay enrolled and graduate ready to make meaningful contributions to the workforce. Scholarships also show our students they are supported by a community of donors who believe in them.
Endowed Scholarships
An endowed scholarship is a permanent scholarship fund in which the principal of the gift is invested and maintained in perpetuity, while a portion of the investment earnings is used annually to provide scholarships. Because the original gift remains intact, an endowed scholarship creates a lasting source of support that benefits generations of students. Current-Use Scholarships
A current-use scholarship is available for immediate use instead of being invested in the endowment. A gift of $5,000 or more will create a named current-use scholarship, and the funds will be awarded until they are fully spent. Make a Gift to an Existing Scholarship Fund
A gift of any size to our already established scholarship funds will make an impact! You can view options on our giving form here under the Designation drop down. Give to the college you graduated from or to the college training students who will work in your field. You can give to support the programs at the:
- College of Community Studies and Public Affairs
- College of Individualized Studies
- College of Liberal Arts
- College of Business and Management
- College of Nursing and Health Sciences
- College of Science
- School of Urban Education
You can help students meet their essential needs that are not covered by scholarships, loans, or grants.
- Metro State Food Pantry provides nutritious food and household supplies to students and their families.
- SAFE Fund and Random Acts of Kindness fund provide emergency financial assistance to students facing an unexpected crisis like eviction, utility shut off, car repair, or medical bill.
- Winter Gift Giving Program grants student wishes for themselves and their families during the winter holidays. Your gift helps fill requests from children’s toys, to winter clothing, to furniture and car tires.
The Foundation uses ten cents of every dollar given to student essential needs to support program operations.
