CRIM 251 Law II

This course is a continuation of LAWE 250 (Law I) regarding Minnesota Criminal and Traffic Codes to provide an understanding of the legal principles in order for students to appropriately apply the law to a given situation and ensure individual constitutional rights are maintained.

Learning outcomes

General

  • Understand the application of Minnesota's criminal and traffic codes to the law enforcement practitioner, with specific emphasis on traffic related laws.
  • Explain which laws are related to the elements of which crimes or offenses.
  • Identify the elements of major traffic and criminal codes.
  • Demonstrate the understanding of statues in association to real life scenarios.
