Special information
Note: This workshop course is designed to ensure the timely disbursement of financial aid and scholarships for the upcoming study abroad program. We will hold pre-departure information sessions during the semester when the workshop course is scheduled. Special permission is required for registration.

Learning outcomes
General
- Students will identify necessary health precautions and understand emergency procedures for their destination.
- Students will describe the cultural norms and social expectations of the host country and develop strategies to manage culture shock and homesickness.
- Students will organize and coordinate some travel arrangements and ensure they have all necessary travel documents.
- Students will explain academic expectations and course materials for their time abroad.
- Students will demonstrate effective ways to stay connected with the faculty leader, teaching assistant, local coordinator, classmates, and family, including using Wi-Fi-enabled devices, cell phones, and communication apps.
