NURS 6003 Intensive Practicum III

This clinical course provides nursing students with experiences in adult mental health and pediatric care. Students provide holistic nursing care that is safe, person-centered and culturally-sensitive care for individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. Experiential learning focuses on application of evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, delegation, advocacy, interpersonal communication, and interprofessional collaboration in complex healthcare systems.

General

  • Demonstrate professionalism consistent with the standards of professional nursing practice.
  • Utilize the nursing process and clinical judgment model to provide safe, culturally-sensitive, and evidence-based nursing care to meet the needs of clients across health care settings.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and health team members in the delivery of nursing care to meet the health care needs of diverse populations across the lifespan.
  • Apply ethical and legal principles in the provision of nursing care.
