Join us in-person to share personal local experiences from the last year for community-building, sense making, and pointing the way forward.
What is and has been happening?
2026 continues to be a year of intense challenges. From the impact of the Metro Surge occupation to large shifts in voting rights, accessibility to democracy and the growing divide in economic hardships in our communities. Each of us has felt this reality uniquely, and there has been little opportunity to process and make sense of it together. Over the summer, two community gatherings created space to do just that, with artists supporting participants in sharing, reflecting on, and making meaning of their experiences through music, oral and written word, movement, mosaic-making, and other creative expressions. An Invitation for Collective Reflection
Metro State University's Community and Civic Engagement Center, Office of Equity and Inclusion, Courageous Change Collective, and Collective Action Lab invite you to a community gathering to express and metabolize all that is impacting us.
Create community as local artists facilitate our story sharing through spoken word, collective mosaic, and music. Your stories will not be published or recorded. They will be held with care to help us surface shared wisdom, process our collective experience, and imagine what is possible next.
All Experiences Welcome: We invite you to pause with us to claim the fullness of our narratives. We welcome and invite the full diversity of experiences present in our many Minnesota communities. If you have felt the weight of these times, come as you are to share.
