Strengths and Strategies: a Men's Skill Building Speaker Series

Join Student Life and Leadership Development for a supportive series focused on building real-world skills, meaningful connections, and personal growth. This series is free and open to the Metro State community.

Speakers Mike Mui and Ryan Hansen tackle a variety of topics in this series. All sessions take place in the Student Center, Room 101. Specific sessions include:

  • September 17, 11 a.m,: How to Make Friends (Ryan Hansen)—Practical tips and strategies for building meaningful connections.
  • October 1, 3 p.m.: Social Skills (Mike Mui)—Learn and practice communication skills, including small talk, active listening, and reading social cues.
  • October 8, 11 a.m.: Obligation and Community (Mike Mui)—Explore the role of responsibility, service, and community in living a meaningful life.
  • October 22, 3 p.m.: Purpose and Vision (Mike Mui)—Reflect on your values, strengths, and goals to create a clearer vision for the future.
  • November 5, 11 a.m.: Networking and Personal Branding (Ryan Hansen)—Learn how to build your network, share your strengths, and make a positive impression on work, school, and beyond.
  • November 19, 3 p.m.: Party Time: Power Point Party—A fun, creative, low-pressure space to share your interests, random facts, or anything you're passionate about.
