About the screenwriters
Maria Columbus
Maria Columbus is a photographer, mixed-digital media artist, acrylic painter, videographer from the Westside of Saint Paul, Minnesota. She also is an aspiring screenwriter who has earned her AA in Fine Arts from Inver Hills Community College and BA in Studio Arts at Metropolitan State University. Maria is Mdewakanton Sioux, from one of the oldest families in Minnesota. She is also Mexican, Swedish, and French. Maria uses her gifts, talents, education, and multi-cultural background to share past and current topics of concern for Indigenous people all around the world. Maria wants to share her stories through images in film and video, and pass along what she knows to future artists.
