Metro State University announced a new partnership with Shuriken Cyber, LLC and ArcQubit, Inc. at the Cyber Security Summit to advance quantum readiness, cybersecurity innovation and workforce development in Minnesota.

Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Metro State and its Minnesota Cyber Institute will collaborate with industry partners to prepare students and professionals for emerging quantum technologies.

The partnership will focus on developing a quantum-ready talent pipeline through education and hands-on training, advancing collaborative research in quantum technologies and post-quantum cryptography, and strengthening Minnesota's position in the national quantum innovation landscape in alignment with the Minnesota National Security Ecosystem.

“As quantum technologies continue to reshape the cybersecurity landscape, we must prepare our students and workforce for the opportunities and challenges ahead,” said Faisal Kaleem Director and Professor of Cyber Programs. “This partnership bridges academic innovation with industry expertise, creating meaningful learning opportunities while strengthening Minnesota's position in quantum readiness and cybersecurity.”

Shuriken Cyber, represented by Jill Allison, will contribute access to its Minnesota facilities and professional networks, while ArcQubit, represented by Shadya Maldonado, will provide specialized expertise and platform resources to support the collaboration.

The initiative reflects Metro State University's commitment to connecting education with emerging industry needs, expanding experiential learning opportunities and developing the skilled workforce needed to navigate the cybersecurity challenges of the quantum era.
