As part of its K–12 and community cybersecurity outreach, the Metro State Cyber Clinic, in partnership with Lead For America (LFA) AmeriCorps, is expanding practical cybersecurity education into the community.
On September 14, the partnership placed a series of cyber hygiene awareness posters at Transition Plus, a Minneapolis Public Schools program. The outreach is designed to make essential cybersecurity practices accessible and relevant to students and the broader school community.
The posters focus on three everyday cybersecurity practices: Safe Browsing, Unsecured Wi-Fi. Password Hygiene.
These topics were selected because they address cybersecurity risks people encounter in everyday life. Building awareness of simple protective behaviors can help students and community members make safer decisions when using technology.
This initiative reflects the broader Metro State Cyber Clinic–LFA AmeriCorps partnership, which connects cybersecurity education with community service. Through outreach activities such as this one, the partnership works to extend practical cybersecurity awareness beyond the university and strengthen connections with schools and communities across Minnesota.
The Transition Plus outreach is part of the Cyber Clinic’s continuing commitment to K–12 and community cybersecurity education, helping make cybersecurity knowledge practical, understandable, and accessible.
