On November 5, the Metro State Cyber Clinic delivered a cybersecurity awareness training session at Sandhill Shores. Approximately 20 participants attended the session. The session covered practical strategies community members can use to protect their personal information and devices. Topics included recognizing phishing attempts, creating stronger passwords, using multi-factor authentication, and understanding how to safely navigate online accounts. Participants also had an opportunity to ask questions and discuss real-life situations related to online safety.

The purpose of the training was to increase awareness of everyday cybersecurity risks and to share steps that individuals can take to reduce those risks, both at home and at work. The Cyber Clinic team facilitated the session and provided guidance based on common challenges observed in community and organizational settings. This outreach activity supports the Cyber Clinic’s ongoing commitment to helping communities build confidence and knowledge in digital security.
