Biography

Healthcare has the power to add years to a person’s life. Mental healthcare has the power to add quality to the years a person is living. As a mental health professional, Mike views his role as supporting and journeying alongside students to address what hinders them from becoming who they want to be. A child of Chinese immigrants himself, he has a particular interest in learning about clients’ families of origin. He specializes in working with the following areas: ADHD, social anxiety, addictions, and trauma. He is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a modality that focuses on processing and working through traumatic memories and experiences. He also brings a background in faith-based counseling and addiction counseling, which he incorporates when those approaches would be helpful to a client.
