MN Energy Assistance Program: The Energy Assistance Program helps pay for home heating and water costs and furnace repairs for income-qualified households. 

Technology access

Metro State Student Laptop Loaner Program: A limited number of loaner laptop computers are available to currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Internet access and low-cost programs

  • Affordable Connectivity Program: This is a federal program to help families and households struggling to afford internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic. The program will provide a discount of up to $30 per month towards broadband service for eligible households and up to $50 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 toward the purchase price 
  • PC’s for People: This is a non-profit organization that offers affordable computers and low-cost internet to eligible individuals.
