Welcome, Alumni Volunteers!

Thank you for visiting the Alumni Volunteer page! As a valued member of our alumni community, your time, talent, and experience are powerful ways to give back to Metro State University. Volunteering is not only a meaningful way to stay connected, but it also enriches the lives of our students, campus community, and fellow alumni.

We invite you to explore the many opportunities available and join us in making a difference. Whether you have just an hour to spare or want to take on a leadership role, there is a place for you here.

Volunteer application

Ready to get started? Complete the quick and easy volunteer application form to let us know your interests and availability.

Mark your calendar for our signature volunteer event—Week of Service: September 22–27, 2025. Join fellow alumni in giving back to your local community through coordinated volunteer activities.

If you can’t volunteer in person, we encourage you to consider a financial gift to the Metro Fund. The Metro Fund helps support our students throughout the year. You can donate here.

Week of Service opportunities

All week long, we will be collecting new reusable grocery bags, along with any plastic and paper bags for the Student Parent Center Food Pantry. There will be designated drop off bins located in the Student Center, Founders Hall, St. John’s Hall, and the Library and Learning Center first-floor lobby. We will also be collecting these items at the alumni booth at Fall Fest on Saturday, September 27.

Tuesday, September 23, from 6 to 8 p.m., help your fellow alumni pack meals at Second Harvest Heartland in Brooklyn Park, 7101 North Winnetka Avenue, Brooklyn Park, MN 55428.
