Metro Momentum Artificial Intelligence Series graphic promoting hands-on AI skill building and a Metro State University Artificial Intelligence Practitioner digital badge.

Keep the momentum going and set the stage for success in your first month at Metro State! A variety of workshops are offered that would be relevant to students new to Metro State or for students who would like a refresher. You can even earn a digital badge with responsible Artificial Intelligence use. Some sessions are offered as a hyflex option, so you can join in on Zoom. Select those that best meet your interests and needs.

Students who attend two (2) different in-person sessions will receive a free Metro State t-shirt!

A simple introduction to today’s AI helps students understand how tools like large language models work, what training and inference mean, and why good data matters. It also highlights practical limits—such as hallucinations and context issues—and shows when AI can support learning and when it can get in the way. A short exercise lets students compare a human‑written draft with one created using AI, including proper disclosure and a quick fact‑check.

This is one of the Metro Momentum Student Life and Leadership Development workshops that will count towards a LinkedIn badge. Students can sign up for the rest of the series here: Fall 2026 Metro Momentum Workshops
