The Community Day/Fair Chance Job Fair is more than a traditional job fair. It is intended to create a holistic, restorative, and community-centered environment specifically for justice-impacted individuals, students, and community members seeking support, opportunity, and connection. More information to come, so check back regularly!
This event provides the opportunity for justice-impacted individuals to:
- Build meaningful community and belonging
- Discover academic pathways through Metro State University, TREC, and REBUILD
- Connect with employers offering fair chance employment opportunities
- Access supportive services and community resources
- Rebuild confidence, stability, and long-term pathways toward success
The event is grounded in the understanding that employment alone is not enough for successful reentry and long-term stability. Many justice-impacted individuals are simultaneously navigating barriers related to housing, trauma, mental health, professional development, social isolation, and access to education.
Join us Monday, June 22, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Food will be provided.
The event brings together:
- Employers and workforce development organizations
- Colleges and academic pathway representatives
- Reentry and advocacy organizations
- Housing and stabilization resources
- Peer support professionals
- Mental health and wellness support
- Financial literacy and professional development services
- Community organizations serving justice-impacted populations
Learn more about TREC and the REBUILD Initiative, and check out available educational opportunities, support systems, and career pathways available through Metro State and its community partners.
In addition to employers and educational resources, the event includes:
- Resume assistance and mock interviews
- Professional headshots and LinkedIn support
- Financial literacy workshops
- Community healing and wellness resources
- Peer support and mentorship opportunities
- Free barbering/haircut services to support dignity restoration and interview readiness
- Panel discussions featuring justice-impacted students and community leaders sharing their stories of transformation and resilience
