The Art Exhibition Committee is pleased to announce the results of the 2026 Art Purchase Award. Four student works have been selected for acquisition: a soft pastel portrait by Ray Kamke, a photograph by Katrina Barnett; a fiber work by Cindy Bach; and an extension of the stunning mural created in 2025 by Aryn Lill Diemand located in St. John’s hallway/tunnel.
In an effort to encourage the growth and development of student and alumni studio artists and to elevate the profile of the arts on campus, Metropolitan State’s Art Exhibition Committee organized four $1,000 purchases on the basis of artistic merit.
The placements of the works are yet to be established, with the exception of the mural, which is in place on the walls of the tunnel between St. John's Hall and Founders Hall.
The 2026 Art Purchase Award was generously supported by the Alumni Association, the Student Senate, Academic Affairs, and the Office of the President.
