Metro Cyber Clinic and Cybersecurity and Forensics Student Organization (CFSO) hosted Michael Rogers, CISO/director of Information Security and Compliance at Hormel, for a guest lecture titled “Responding to Cyber Incidents: A Practitioner’s View on Threats and OT Security.” The session drew more than 50 students alongside faculty. Rogers delivered a dynamic talk that blended the history of cyber defense, today’s threat landscape, and a look inside a couple of real-world incidents, giving attendees an unfiltered view of how practitioners triage, contain, and recover from attacks.
Hearing directly from a practitioner of Mike’s caliber gave our students a front-row seat to the realities of the field—and they left truly inspired. Moments like this underscore why Metro State is becoming a place where cyber isn’t just taught—it’s lived.
