METR 103 Academic Skills for Success
This course is designed to support undergraduate students who are working to improve their academic standing and build a strong foundation for future success. Through an engaging, strengths-based curriculum, students will explore and apply essential success strategies, including resilience, growth mindset, time management, and goal setting. Emphasis is placed on context and self-awareness, personal development, and effective habits that contribute to academic and personal growth.
Students will participate in weekly academic classes as well as small-group mentoring sessions that will provide a space for accountability, encouragement, and shared learning. These sessions foster a supportive community where students can reflect on progress, celebrate wins, and navigate challenges together. By the end of the course, students will have developed a personalized success plan and a toolkit of strategies to help them thrive throughout their college journey.
