Community engagement helps students connect their learning to real community needs.
This year, Community Engagement Faculty Fellows Chukwuneke Okorie and Rob Shumer are offering a five module professional development series for Metro State staff and faculty who are interested in creating or refining community‑engaged works. This series will draw upon practices from the Seed Coalition's Engaged Faculty Institute (EFI).
Facilitators:
• Rosalva Hernandez - director of Community Engagement
• Chukwuneke Okorie - associate professor, College of Business and Management
• Robert Shumer - community faculty
This online series offers practical tools, examples, and a supportive space to develop or revise community‑engaged courses and are offered at noon on five Tuesdays this semester. You can attend one module, or all five! Register in advance.
Open to all faculty and staff who support community engagement!
