Last week, Erica Berte's College of Business and Management Metro State University students had the privilege of touring Cargill’s headquarters—a visit that was as inspiring as it was educational. Organized with care by Sarah Lawinger and supported by the Asian Alliance Network, the experience offered a rare behind-the-scenes look at one of the world’s largest privately held companies.
The class explored their beautifully renovated office space—modern, warm, and thoughtfully designed—and participated in a dynamic panel discussion with C-level executives including Adriano Marcon; Anna Teeter M.S., CCA, SSp; Kimberly Luong; Chung Yu; and Lawrence Wang. Among other topics, they shared Cargill’s mission, values, sustainability strategy, and their personal career journeys.
The stories and insights shared should have a lasting impact on the participating students, helping them connect classroom learning to real-world experiences, and encouraging them to think beyond traditional career paths—to imagine new horizons and possibilities, dreaming big.
A heartfelt thank you from Metro State University to the Cargill team for their time and willingness to share their wisdom. Thanks also to Dean Rassule Hadidi, Christine Nelson, Bill Baldus, and Susan Hang, for attending the visit, and all the participating students for their engagement. This kind of experiential learning is invaluable—and we’re deeply grateful.
