On August 26, the Metro State Cyber Clinic was invited by Griswold Home Care to lead a technology and safety information session focused on safeguarding personal information in today’s digital world. Cyber Clinic students and faculty delivered live demonstrations showing how quickly personal data can be compromised, giving participants—including senior citizens—an eye-opening look at real-world cyber threats. The interactive training also included: Examples of dangerous websites, links, emails, and texts commonly used in cyberattacks. Tools and everyday habits that individuals can adopt to better protect their digital information. Practical strategies for building strong cybersecurity practices at home, in the workplace, and across the community.
Participants left the session with actionable steps to improve their online safety and a deeper understanding of the threats facing individuals and organizations.
This event highlighted Metro State’s commitment to supporting diverse community groups—including seniors, schools, nonprofits, and small businesses—through hands-on, accessible cybersecurity education.
