On December 4, Metro State University welcomed a new cohort of students from Metro Schools College Prep to explore future pathways into the university’s cybersecurity programs. The visit introduced students to hands-on cyber activities led by Metro State University Cyber Clinic, offering a real look into what it’s like to study and work in the field.

During the event, students engaged in interactive demonstrations, learned about cyber career tracks, and heard directly from current Metro State students about their academic and professional journeys. Faculty also highlighted the university’s growing Cybersecurity programs and the opportunities available from applied learning in the Cyber Clinic to advanced study in the graduate cybersecurity program.

The visit strengthened Metro State’s ongoing partnership with K–12 schools and helped students envision themselves as part of Minnesota’s next generation of cyber professionals. Many participants expressed enthusiasm about pursuing cybersecurity at Metro State, inspired by the clear pathways and supportive learning environment the university provides.
