On May 20, Metro State University proudly showcased its growing cybersecurity capabilities to the Minnesota State Board of Trustees, University President, Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, as well as Metro State students, faculty, staff, deans, and alumni.
A key highlight of the event was the unveiling of the university’s new educational Security Operations Center (eSOC)—a hands-on learning environment designed to prepare students for real-world cybersecurity challenges. The eSOC serves as a dynamic hub for experiential learning, allowing students to engage in live network monitoring, threat analysis, and risk assessment as part of their academic training.
The showcase demonstrated the university's leadership in cybersecurity education and its commitment to developing a diverse and highly skilled cyber workforce for Minnesota and beyond.
Metro State’s Cyber Clinic students and alumni were present to share the impact of the university’s innovative approach to cyber education, which blends classroom learning with applied, community-based service.
