This course offers students an opportunity to explore, in depth, a specific issue of aging. Topic choices include: The Older Woman; Widowhood; Counseling Older Adults; and Multicultural Issues of Aging.
Learning outcomes
General
- Be familiar with demographics regarding the population of older persons being studied.
- Will be able to describe programs and services for and to members of the group being studied, both locally and nationally.
- Will be aware of gaps in services and/or problem areas affecting the group of elders being studies.
- Will be aware of key issues/problems/challenges of members of the group of older persons being studied.
